Ransom keeps what it knows about you on your phone. The one thing it sends anywhere is a record of a subscription.
The short version. There is no account and no sign-up. Everything the app knows about you is stored on your iPhone and stays there. We cannot see your screen time, your workouts, your camera or your step count, because none of it ever reaches us. When you subscribe, a record of that subscription goes to the service we use to keep track of subscriptions, described under Purchases below.

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment and tells the app only whether a subscription is currently active. We never see your name, payment details or billing address. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
To keep track of which subscriptions are running, renewing or cancelled, we use RevenueCat, which processes that purchase history on our behalf. What it receives is the purchase itself: which plan, when it started, whether it renewed or was refunded, tied to a random identifier generated on your device rather than to you. Your name, age, height, weight and screen-time figures are never sent. The setup answers about how you want to use the app, such as which exercise you picked, are sent with it so we can see which kind of plan people stay with.
If you arrived from an Apple Search Ads advert, Apple gives the app a token that names the advert campaign, and it goes to RevenueCat with the purchase so we can tell which adverts are worth paying for. It describes the campaign, not you, and it carries no advertising identifier. We still do not track you across other apps or websites, and the app never asks for permission to, because it does not need it.
Because everything lives on your device, you control all of it directly:
We cannot delete your data on request, retrieve it, or restore it, because we never receive it. If you delete it, it is gone.
Ransom is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. As above, the app collects no personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. If a future version of the app ever collects data, we will say so here plainly and before it does.
